Singapore: Day 2 – Flower Dome + Cloud Forest + Discounted USS Ticket

flower dome

What’s in our Itinerary was originally to buy the discounted USS ticket in Lucky Plaza and head to Universal Studio but unfortunately we woke up late and came late in Lucky Plaza and we thought the remaining time before we leave for Malaysia won’t be enough to enjoy the rest of Universal Studio so we abruptly changed our itinerary to Lucky Plaza + Flower Dome + Cloud Dome + Marina Bay Sands Skypark then off to Malaysia

Lucky Plaza – Discounted Universal Studio Ticket

Where to buy discounted Universal Studio Singapore Tickets and more packages? Head to Lucky Plaza! Cebu Air Travel & Tours offers discounted or packaged tickets for the tourist spots in Singapore.

(1) How to Get there?

Aljunied Station – Bugis Station (change to Blue Line) – Newton (change to red line) – Orchard Station then walk from there.

(2) What to Expect?

There are so many Filipinos there! Literally they are everywhere! You might even forget you’re in another country! Aside from the fact that there are many Filipinos there, there are also a lot of Money Changers, if you need to change some cash to SGD you can do it there. They have Jollibee also and other Filipino foods in their foodcourt

(3) My Story

So as soon as we arrive at the mall we asked for the front desk as to where it was located. I asked in English but I got an answer in Tagalog 😀 Yes! the person in the front desk was a Filipino. IDK exactly in words how to describe it but I really feel happy whenever I meet Filipinos outside the Philippines.

We’re only supposed to buy the discounted ticket for Universal Studio Singapore but as we browse the brochures of the packages they offer, their prices are really cheap!! So,we were encourage to buy another package.

The packages we bought:

  1.  79 SGD Universal Studio Singapore Adult Ticket + Free Photo Claim Stub in USS + Back and Forth Cable Car Ride in Sentosa + Minion Mug
  2. 72 SGD Marina Bay Sands Skypark + Flower Dome + Cloud Forest + Gardens by the Bay + Singapore Flyer + Singapore XD Theater (Flower Dome + Cloud Forest $28)

Colorful flower will welcome you when you go inside. There are really alot of flowers in different kinds, colors and size. Your eyes will surely be pleased exploring the place

(3) My Story

I was in awe when I entered the Flower Dome! It was so beautiful there are colorful flowers everywhere you look at. Plus, well it was really hot outside the dome then when I entered the temperature inside was cold so I was really thankful! and all I can see are colorful and lovely flowers. I was really happy since its the first tourist spot of SG that I’ve been too and I really love what my eyes saw.

It was almost Chinese New Year when we went there so the flower dome was also decorated to match the upcoming event. Monkeys can be seen around and the traditional Chinese fortune charms.

You can also see the Singapore flyer while inside the flower dome since it’s a glasshouse. A couple actually ask me to take a picture for the two of them in the same spot that’s where I got the idea so, I asked my sister to take one for me too just because I want to show that the Singapore flyer can be seen from inside the Flower Dome.

It was really fascinating for me to see this much of beautiful flower in one conservatory. I mean they are all colorful, unique and pretty. I wonder how they take care and manage to keep them all alive and pretty.

(1) How to Get There?

Drop off to Bayfront Station

Aljunied – Paya Lebar (Transfer to Circle Line) – Bayfront

From bayfront station you can either walk your way there or avail their unlimted ride shuttle service for 3 SGD

(2) What to Expect?

Unlike in Flower Dome you’ll mostly see greens around you though there are still some flowers inside.

(3) My Story

After visiting the Flower Dome our next stop was the Cloud Forest which is right across the Flower Dome. This indoor waterfall will welcome you as you step foot inside the forest. Singapore Cloud Forest has the World’s tallest indoor waterfall.

Cloud Forest

Be careful not to get wet while taking pictures since it splashes water out. But I think you’ll enjoy getting wet a little, try pushing your family members closer to the falls and get them splashed on.

As you walk inside the cloud forest you can see and feel the mist just like the one you can see in the photo below. It was called and relaxing inside, there are some few seats inside where you can take a rest and just look around.

Cloud Forest also features a 35 meter-tall mountain covered with different kids of plants. No worries you won’t climb up high from the bottom since there’s an elevator that will take you up to the floor where you just have to climb up a short stairs to reach the top.

This is the way up to the elevator 🙂

So, here’s what you’ll see on the top of the mountain. Sorry, I wasn’t able to take a photo that doesn’t have us. It was a nice idea that the cloud forest is inside a glass house as you can see the blue sky and also Marina Bay from the top of the mountain.

After exploring the top of the mountain you have to go down using your feet, no elevators this time, for you to enjoy the scenery of both the inside and the outside of the cloud forest.  As I said since it is a glasshouse so you can see the OCBC Skyway and Marina Bay Sands from the inside.

Inside the mountain just before you exits are exhibits of real stalactites and stalagmites. Find the area below so you can capture the heart shaped skywalk inside the conservatory closer than when you’re in the ground.
